Property Tax
Two Different Offices Handle Your Property Taxes Here
In San Augustine County, one office appraises your property and a separate office collects your tax — you need to know which one to call.
The San Augustine County Appraisal District decides how much your property is worth for tax purposes. If you think your valuation is wrong, you protest there. Their office is at 122 N. Harrison St. and their phone is 936-275-3496.
The Tax Assessor-Collector is a different office. That office sends bills and collects what you owe. It is at 100 W. Columbia St., Room 102, San Augustine, and the phone is 936-275-2300. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. Taxing units in the county include San Augustine County, four school districts (Brookeland, Chireno, San Augustine, and Broaddus), the City of San Augustine, and the County Hospital District.
