Camping at Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow

The Army Corps of Engineers operates multiple campgrounds and day-use parks on Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir with reservable sites near Belton.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District manages recreation on both lakes. Belton Lake has about 136 miles of shoreline and multiple parks including Live Oak Ridge, White Flint, Westcliff, Winkler, and Temple Lake parks. Amenities vary by park and include boat ramps, swim beaches, picnic areas, playgrounds, and camping sites for tents and RVs.

Stillhouse Hollow has four Corps parks: Dana Peak, Union Grove, Stillhouse, and Riversbend. Dana Peak and Union Grove offer camping. Screened overnight shelters, electric and water hookup sites, and primitive tent sites are available. An annual day-use permit is available that covers entry fees at most parks for a year; check the current fee at the lake office or swf-wc.usace.army.mil, as fees are subject to change. As of recent updates, the Stillhouse Hollow office does not accept cash, so bring a card.

Reservations for campsites can be made through recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Walk-in availability exists but is not guaranteed on weekends. For current fees, availability, and park conditions, visit the Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow pages on swf-wc.usace.army.mil.
