Public Hunting

Caddo Lake Wildlife Management Area allows public hunting with a permit

The Caddo Lake WMA covers about 8,124 acres in Marion and Harrison counties and is open to hunters who obtain the required permit from TPWD.

Texas Parks and Wildlife manages the Caddo Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA), which covers roughly 8,124 acres split between Marion and Harrison counties. It is open to public hunting. Species you can hunt there include white-tailed deer, feral hog, waterfowl, dove, squirrel, rabbit, raccoon, and beaver. Fishing and trapping are also permitted.

To hunt here, you need a valid Texas hunting license plus the appropriate permit. The Annual Public Hunting (APH) permit is the main option and lets you access many WMAs across the state for one annual fee. Other permit types may apply depending on the activity and season. Rules, season dates, and bag limits change year to year. Always check the current TPWD WMA regulations before you go — the WMA page has the official rules list.
