Cleburne State Park Surrounds a Spring-Fed Lake Near Town

Cleburne State Park sits about 30 minutes southwest of Fort Worth and offers camping, fishing, hiking, and swimming on 116-acre Cedar Lake.

The park is at 5800 Park Road 21, Cleburne, TX 76033. Cedar Lake is spring-fed and clear. You can fish from a covered ADA-accessible pier, swim, kayak, and paddle with no-wake boating. Nearly 13 miles of trails are open to hikers and mountain bikers.

The park has full-hookup campsites, screened shelters, and cabins. Entry is $6 per day for ages 13 and up (free for kids 12 and under) — but check tpwd.texas.gov for current fees and to make reservations. The park fills up quickly on weekends. It was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s.
