Roberts County is in the Panhandle and North zones for hunting seasons
Hunters in Roberts County can go after white-tailed deer, mule deer, wild turkey, quail, pheasant, and pronghorn. Different zone rules apply. Almost all land here is private, so you need permission from the landowner.
Roberts County falls under two hunting zones. It is in the Panhandle Zone for mule deer, pheasant, and pronghorn. It is in the North Zone for white-tailed deer, turkey, and quail.
Under 2025-26 TPWD rules, the mule deer general season runs late November to early December. The limit is one buck.
White-tailed deer general season runs November through early January. The bag limit is five deer. No more than one may be a buck.
Pheasant season runs December through early January. The daily bag limit is three cocks.
Pronghorn hunting is by permit only. Permits go to landowners in areas with huntable populations.
Roberts County has almost no public hunting land. You need landowner permission or a paid lease to hunt here. Always check current season dates and bag limits with TPWD before you go. Rules can change from year to year.
