Two offices handle your property taxes in McCulloch County

The McCulloch County Appraisal District sets your property value. A separate tax assessor-collector office handles vehicle registration, not property tax collection.

Two offices handle property and taxes in McCulloch County. The McCulloch County Appraisal District is at 306 W. Lockhart in Brady. That office sets the appraised value of your property. It also handles exemptions like the homestead exemption. If you think your value is wrong, file a protest with that office.

The Tax Assessor-Collector office is at 302 W. Commerce in Brady. It handles vehicle registration and similar state services. It does not collect property taxes. Your tax bills come from the taxing units themselves. Those include McCulloch County, the City of Brady, school districts, and the Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital District.
