TPWD Has a Wildlife Biologist Assigned to Johnson County
Texas Parks and Wildlife assigns a regional wildlife biologist to assist landowners in Johnson County with habitat management and wildlife questions.
Johnson County is part of TPWD's Cross Timbers regulatory district. A wildlife biologist is assigned to help landowners in this area.
You can call on this biologist with questions about habitat, native species, and wildlife on your land. The biologist can also help you build a wildlife management plan.
A wildlife management plan matters for taxes. If you want to qualify your land for a lower agricultural property tax rate using wildlife management, you need a plan reviewed by TPWD.
To get started, contact the assigned biologist through tpwd.texas.gov/landwater/land/habitats/cross_timbers/regulatory. The service is free to landowners.
