Public Hunting Land
Public Hunting on the Angelina-Neches WMA
The Angelina-Neches/Dam B Wildlife Management Area covers land in both Tyler and Jasper counties and is open to public hunters with the right permit.
The Angelina-Neches/Dam B WMA sits along the Neches River on the Tyler-Jasper county line. The western half of the project is in Tyler County. Texas Parks and Wildlife manages the area for hunting and wildlife.
Whitetail deer, feral hogs, squirrels, rabbits, and waterfowl are the main game animals. To hunt there, you need a valid Texas hunting license plus a TPWD Annual Public Hunting permit. Seasons and rules change each year, so always check the current TPWD public hunting page before you go. You can also apply for special drawn hunts through TPWD.
