Two Different Offices Handle Your Property Tax in Gillespie County

Gillespie County has two separate offices for property taxes, and it matters which one you call.

The Gillespie Central Appraisal District sets the value of your property. That value determines how much tax you owe. The appraisal district is at 1159 S. Milam St. in Fredericksburg. If you think your property is over-valued, you protest there.

The Gillespie County Tax Office handles vehicle registration and some other county services, but it does not collect property taxes. The appraisal district handles property tax collection in this county. Contact the appraisal district at 830-997-9807 or office@gillcad.org with tax questions.
