Two Offices Handle Property Tax in Jim Wells County

The Jim Wells County Appraisal District (CAD) sets the taxable value on your home, land, or business. It is not the same as the Tax Assessor-Collector's office. The CAD is at 1600 E. Main St., Suite 100, in Alice. The Tax Assessor-Collector is at 601 E. Main St., Suite 175, also in Alice.

If you get a notice about your property value and want to protest, you deal with the CAD. For vehicle registration or some tax payments, contact the Tax Assessor-Collector. The Texas Comptroller's county directory lists both offices with current phone numbers and emails. Always check there first, because staff and contact details can change.
