Big Spring State Park Is Inside City Limits and Free to Enter

Big Spring State Park is a 382-acre park within Big Spring city limits, open daily with no entrance fee and several miles of trails.

The park sits at about 2,810 feet elevation on a rocky mesa. There is no charge to enter. It is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset. You can hike a paved 3-mile loop road or a separate 5-mile natural trail. There are also picnic areas and a 2/3-mile nature trail.

The park has a stone pavilion built in 1934-35 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The pavilion can be reserved for events. For reservations or information, call (432) 263-4931. There is no hunting or fishing at this park. The park address is No. 1 Scenic Drive, Big Spring, TX 79720.
