A Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) boat ramp sits at the State Highway 7 crossing of the Brazos River. It is about 5 miles west of Marlin.
You can also reach the river off FM 712, about 3 miles southwest of Marlin. That is where Falls-on-the-Brazos County Park sits. The park is right next to a natural waterfall that stretches across the river. The county park also has camping facilities.
The Brazos River in this stretch holds largemouth bass, spotted bass, white bass, channel catfish, freshwater drum, and sunfish. You need a current Texas freshwater fishing license to fish here.
Before you go, check TPWD's website for current access conditions and any seasonal closures. River levels and site conditions can change.
