Who handles property taxes in Falls County
Two separate offices handle property taxes here — one sets your value, the other collects the bill.
The Falls County Appraisal District (CAD) appraises all property in the county. That means they decide what your home or land is worth for tax purposes. They are at 403 Craik St. in Marlin and can be reached at 254-883-2543 or fallscad.net.
A separate office, the Falls County Tax Assessor-Collector, sends out tax bills and collects payments. Their office is at 125 Bridge St. in Marlin. If you think your appraised value is too high, you file a protest with the appraisal district — not the tax collector. The CAD website lists protest forms and hearing schedules. Check both offices when you buy property so you know who to contact for what.
