Cherokee County Has Antler Restrictions for Deer Hunters
Cherokee County is in the TPWD North Zone and has specific antler restrictions that limit which bucks are legal to harvest.
Deer hunters in Cherokee County may take up to 4 deer per season — no more than 2 bucks and no more than 2 antlerless deer. The county falls in TPWD's North Zone. Antler restrictions apply: only one of your two legal bucks may have an inside spread of 13 inches or greater. A legal buck must have at least one unbranched antler or an inside spread of 13 inches or greater.
The general season typically runs from early November through early January, with separate archery and muzzleloader seasons. Youth-only seasons also occur in fall and winter. Seasons and dates change year to year — always verify the current Outdoor Annual before hunting. Javelina has no open season in Cherokee County.
