Wise County Deer Hunting Has a Specific Antler Rule

Hunters in Wise County can take up to four deer per season, but only one buck can have an inside spread of 13 inches or more.

Wise County is in the North Zone for white-tailed deer. The bag limit is four deer total — no more than two bucks and no more than two antlerless. Of those two bucks, only one may have an inside spread of 13 inches or greater. A legal buck must either have an unbranched antler or meet the 13-inch spread rule.

On U.S. Forest Service lands in the county (LBJ National Grasslands), antlerless deer may only be taken during archery, youth-only, and a special 4-day antlerless season. Check TPWD's Outdoor Annual for current season dates and any changes before you go.
