Hunting Rules for Deer and Turkey in Lampasas County

Lampasas County has specific deer bag limits and buck restrictions that hunters must know before the season opens.

Lampasas County allows up to five deer per season, but no more than two bucks. Only one of those bucks may have an inside antler spread of 13 inches or greater. A legal buck must have at least one unbranched antler or meet the spread requirement. These rules are set by Texas Parks and Wildlife and can change each year.

Turkey hunting is also popular here. The annual statewide limit is four turkeys. Archery hunters need an Archery Endorsement; turkey hunters need an Upland Game Bird Endorsement. All deer and turkey harvests must be reported through the Texas Hunt and Fish mobile app or online. Always check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual for the active season dates.
