Hunting License
Hunting in Hansford County Requires a Texas License
Anyone who hunts in Hansford County must have a Texas hunting license, and some public-land hunts need an extra permit.
Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) requires a hunting license for hunters of any age. A lower-cost youth license is available for hunters under 17. The Panhandle's playa lakes — shallow, seasonal wetlands — are known for waterfowl and dove hunting. Some public hunting areas run by TPWD require an Annual Public Hunting Permit on top of your regular license.
You can buy a license online at tpwd.texas.gov or at local retailers. Seasons, bag limits, and permit requirements change each year. Always check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual before you hunt. Hunting on private land still requires owner permission and a valid license.
