Hunting in Kenedy County: Seasons and Bag Limits
Kenedy County is prime South Texas hunting territory with seasons for white-tailed deer, turkey, dove, quail, and more — but nearly all land is privately owned.
Kenedy County sits in the South Zone for most TPWD hunting regulations. White-tailed deer season typically runs from November into January. The bag limit is 5 deer, with no more than 3 bucks. Turkey season runs fall through spring with a 4-turkey bag limit. Dove, quail, and waterfowl seasons also open here each year. Quail bag limits run up to 15 per day.
Almost all land in Kenedy County is in large private ranches. There is very little public hunting land here. Most hunters access the county through paid hunting leases. Check the TPWD Outdoor Annual for exact dates and limits before each season, since TPWD can adjust rules year to year.
