TPWD Has Local Wildlife Biologists for Martin County Hunters
Martin County is private-land hunting country, but Texas Parks and Wildlife Department biologists are assigned locally and can answer questions about game, habitat, and licenses.
Most of Martin County is privately owned, so public hunting land is very limited. Hunting here usually means leasing access from a landowner. White-tailed deer, dove, quail, and feral hogs are common game in this part of West Texas.
TPWD assigns wildlife biologists to Martin County who can advise on habitat, game populations, and landowner programs. The Annual Public Hunting Permit from TPWD also gives access to some public lands statewide. Check the TPWD public hunting search tool to see if any permitted areas are listed for this county in a given year. Seasons and bag limits change annually, so always verify current rules at tpwd.texas.gov before you go.
