Property Tax Basics

Two offices handle your property taxes in Kerr County

The appraisal district sets your property value, but a separate tax assessor-collector sends the bill and takes payment.

In Kerr County, two offices handle property taxes. The Kerr Central Appraisal District (KCAD) decides what your property is worth each year. They are at 212 Oak Hollow Drive in Kerrville. A different office, the Kerr County Tax Assessor-Collector, sends the tax bill and collects payment. Their office is at 700 Main Street in Kerrville.

If you think your value is wrong, you must protest with KCAD. The protest deadline is typically May 15 or 30 days after you receive your notice, whichever is later. You can search your property and see current values at kerrcad.org. For questions about your bill or payment, contact the assessor-collector at co.kerr.tx.us.
