Lake Bridgeport Offers Fishing and Boating in Wise County

Lake Bridgeport sits on the West Fork Trinity River in Wise and Jack counties and supports bass, catfish, crappie, and other fish.

Lake Bridgeport covers about 11,954 surface acres and reaches up to 85 feet deep. It is off US Highway 380 near Bridgeport. Boat ramps are available, though access can be limited when lake levels are low. The lake is managed for water supply by the Tarrant Regional Water District.

Before you leave any Texas lake with your boat, you must drain all water from your hull, livewells, and bait buckets. Zebra mussels have been confirmed in Lake Bridgeport, and transporting them to another water body is illegal. TPWD posts current fishing reports for Lake Bridgeport on its website.
