Lake Corpus Christi State Park Has Camping, Swimming, and Over 200 Bird Species
Lake Corpus Christi State Park near Mathis offers camping, water activities, hiking, and exceptional bird watching in one of the last stretches of South Texas brush country.
The park is at 23194 Park Rd. 25, Mathis, TX 78368, in the Mathis area on the lake's eastern shore. Daily entrance is $5 per adult; children 12 and under are free. Campsites range from water-only to full hookup (water, electricity, sewer). The park also has screened shelters and cabins.
TPWD has recorded more than 200 bird species in the park, making it a notable stop during spring and fall migration. Alligators live in the park. On the water you can swim, paddle, boat, fish, and water ski. On land there are hiking and biking trails. The park can reach capacity on busy weekends, so book through the TPWD reservations system or call 512-389-8900.
