Trails
The LBJ Multiuse Trail System Has About 75 Miles of Trails
Hikers, mountain bikers, and horse riders share nearly 75 miles of trails on the LBJ National Grasslands in Wise and Montague counties.
The LBJ Multiuse Trail System spans the grasslands north of Decatur. Trailheads include Bois d'Arc, TADRA Point, and Valley View, with facilities ranging from basic to sites with horse wash stations and water.
Camping at trailheads is allowed; check with the USFS Decatur office at (940) 627-5475 for current stay limits, fees, and pass availability. Trails are not marked for difficulty the way mountain trails are — conditions depend on weather and season. The USFS office handles permits, maps, and questions.
