Mule deer and pronghorn require specific permits here

Hudspeth County is in the Trans-Pecos hunting zone for mule deer. Pronghorn hunting requires a special permit issued to landowners.

Hudspeth County is in the Trans-Pecos hunting zone. Mule deer season is short — usually late November into December. The limit is one buck across all seasons combined.

Pronghorn hunting is permit-only. Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) gives those permits to landowners or their agents in areas with huntable populations. You cannot just buy a hunting license and go after pronghorn. You need access to land where a permit has already been issued.

Other animals you can hunt here include javelina, quail, dove, and sandhill crane. Each has its own season dates and may require a separate endorsement.

Seasons and bag limits can change from year to year. Always check the current rules in the TPWD Outdoor Annual before you go.
