One Office Handles Appraisals, Another Collects Taxes
Irion County has a separate appraisal district and a separate tax office — they do different jobs, so you may need to contact both.
The Irion County Appraisal District sets the value on your property. That value is what your taxes are based on. If you think your value is wrong, you protest it with this office, not the tax office. Their website is irioncad.org and their phone is 325-835-3551.
The Tax Assessor-Collector is a separate office. They send the bills and collect payments. Their office is also at 209 N. Parkview in Mertzon. For homestead exemptions, deadlines, and payment questions, check with the appraisal district first, then the tax office. Rates and deadlines change, so always verify the current year's details directly with each office.
