Two Offices Handle Property Tax in Collingsworth County
The appraisal district sets your property value, but it also collects taxes here — the tax assessor's office does not collect them.
Most Texas counties split property tax duties between two offices. In Collingsworth County, the Collingsworth County Appraisal District sets the value of your property. The Texas Comptroller notes that the county tax assessor-collector office here does not collect property taxes. That means the appraisal district handles collection duties as well.
