Property Tax
Two offices handle your property taxes in Gaines County
Gaines County splits property tax work between two offices — one sets your value, one collects the bill.
The Gaines County Appraisal District decides what your property is worth for tax purposes. It also handles homestead exemptions and protests. You contact this office if you think your value is wrong. Its phone is (432) 758-3263 and its email is gainescad@gainescad.org.
A separate Tax Assessor-Collector office at 101 S. Main St., Room 205, Seminole actually sends the bills and takes your payment. That office can be reached at (432) 758-4008. The county has ten taxing entities — including three school districts (Seminole, Seagraves, and Loop), two cities, and several special districts. Check the Texas Comptroller's county directory to see all the rates in one place.
