TPWD offers a drawn public hunt on a Coleman County ranch

Texas Parks and Wildlife runs a drawn hunt on a ranch in Coleman County, giving hunters without private land access a chance to hunt here.

Most land in Coleman County is privately owned. That means finding a place to hunt can be hard. But TPWD runs a drawn-hunt program on a property called the Coleman County Ranch. You put your name in for a permit. If you are picked, you get to hunt on that land. It is a real option for hunters who do not have access to private land.

To take part, you need a valid Texas hunting license. You also need an Annual Public Hunting Permit ($48 for 2025–26, but check for updates). Applications for drawn hunts open each summer. The TPWD drawn-hunt page is where you find current details, open application windows, and the species offered each season.
