A state permit can open up public hunting land near McCulloch County

TPWD's Annual Public Hunting Permit gives access to over 180 public hunting areas across Texas for a modest annual fee.

Most land in McCulloch County is privately owned. But Texas Parks and Wildlife offers the Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit. It gives access to over 180 public hunting areas across the state. The permit covers hunting of white-tailed deer, feral hogs, dove, quail, turkey, and other game. A Limited Public Use Permit covers fishing, hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing on the same lands.

Fees and open areas can change each season. Check the TPWD public hunting page before you buy. Use the TPWD public hunting search tool to find areas in or near McCulloch County for the current season. The APH permit does not replace any required hunting licenses or endorsements.
