Wilson County has no state park, but wildlife biologists can help landowners

Wilson County has no public Wildlife Management Areas, but Texas Parks and Wildlife assigns biologists to the county who can advise landowners on habitat and wildlife management.

Wilson County does not have a state park or a public Wildlife Management Area (WMA) where anyone can hunt or fish. Hunting and fishing here are primarily on private land. If you own land in the county, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) assigns wildlife biologists to this area who offer free technical advice on habitat improvement, wildlife population management, and pond construction.

For hunting on private land, normal Texas hunting license and season rules apply. Deer, turkey, hog, and dove are common game species in this part of South Texas. Check tpwd.texas.gov each season for current bag limits and season dates, as those change annually.
