Two different offices handle your property taxes
In Caldwell County, the appraisal district sets your property value and also handles tax collection — the Tax Assessor-Collector office does not collect property taxes here.
Two separate offices deal with your property taxes in Caldwell County. The Caldwell County Appraisal District (CCAD) sets your property value each year. That value is then used to figure out your tax bill. CCAD is located at 211 Bufkin Ln in Lockhart.
Caldwell County is an exception to the usual setup: the Tax Assessor-Collector does not collect property taxes here. Contact CCAD directly to pay your property tax bill. The Tax Assessor-Collector office at 110 S. Main St. handles vehicle registration and related services. If you think CCAD valued your property too high, you protest that value with CCAD. Knowing which office does what can save you a wasted trip.
