Local Tax Districts

Your tax bill may include charges from several local districts

Caldwell County has many active taxing entities, so what you owe depends heavily on exactly where your property sits.

Caldwell County has a large number of active taxing entities. Your tax bill can include the county, a school district, a city, a water district, an emergency services district, and a community college. There are seven school districts active in the county, along with multiple municipal utility districts (MUDs).

A MUD is a special district that can add its own tax rate on top of all the others. Two properties just a short distance apart can have very different total tax rates. Before you buy land or a home here, look up which entities cover that exact piece of land. The Caldwell County Appraisal District website has a full list to help you check.
