Property Tax Basics

Two offices handle your property taxes in Glasscock County

The appraisal district sets your home's value; a separate tax office sends the bill and collects payment.

Glasscock County has two separate offices for property taxes. The Glasscock County Appraisal District decides what your property is worth each year. That value is used to calculate your tax bill. The Tax Assessor-Collector sends you the actual bill and collects your payment. These are different offices with different jobs.

If you think your property is valued too high, you file a protest with the appraisal district — not the tax office. Both offices are located at 209 S. Myrl St. in Garden City. The appraisal district can be reached at 432-203-2215 or info@glasscockcad.org. Check the Texas Comptroller's county directory for current contact info and protest deadlines, which can change year to year.
