Two Different Offices Handle Your Property Tax
In Montgomery County, one office sets your property value and a separate office collects your tax bill.
The Montgomery Central Appraisal District (MCAD) decides what your property is worth for tax purposes. It does not collect taxes. Its office is at 109 Gladstell St. in Conroe. You can reach MCAD at 936-756-3354 or at mcad-tx.org.
The Montgomery County Tax Assessor-Collector is the office that sends you a bill and takes your payment. That office is at 400 N. San Jacinto St. in Conroe. If you think your value is wrong, you protest with MCAD, not the tax office.
