Property Tax Basics

Two offices handle your property taxes

In Victoria County, one office sets your property value and a separate office collects your tax bill.

The Victoria Central Appraisal District (VCAD) decides what your property is worth each year. That value is used to calculate your tax bill. VCAD is at 2805 N. Navarro St., Suite 300 in Victoria. You can reach them at 361-576-3621 or victoriacad.org.

The Victoria County Tax Assessor-Collector is a different office. They send out tax bills and collect payments. That office is at 205 N. Bridge St., Suite 101. If you think your value is wrong, you protest at VCAD — not at the tax office. The state comptroller keeps a directory of both offices for every county.
