How Tax Rates Work
Your property tax bill comes from up to 16 taxing units
Victoria County has 16 separate taxing units. Your total tax bill adds up every rate that applies to your address.
Victoria County has 16 active taxing units. Each one sets its own tax rate. Your bill is the total of only the units that cover your land.
Some of the 16 units are big: Victoria County itself, the City of Victoria, and five school districts. The school districts are Victoria, Industrial, Bloomington, Nursery, and Meyersville. Others are smaller: a junior college district, a navigation district, water control districts, and drainage districts.
Not every unit taxes every piece of land. It depends on where your property sits. To find out which units apply to you, check the Texas Comptroller's county directory or call VCAD.
