Fishing at Benbrook Lake in Tarrant County
Benbrook Lake sits about 10 miles southwest of downtown Fort Worth and offers fishing for largemouth bass, catfish, hybrid striped bass, crappie, and white bass.
The lake covers 3,635 acres and sits on the Clear Fork of the Trinity River off US 377. TPWD rates hybrid striped bass as excellent, with good fishing also for catfish, crappie, and white bass. Largemouth bass is the most sought-after species.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers controls the lake. Boat ramp availability can change with water levels — check the Corps website before you go. Free lake maps are available at the controlling authority office on Lakeside Drive. You need a Texas fishing license.
