Brazoria County Parks Offer 14 Miles of Public Beach and Boat Ramp Access
The Brazoria County Parks Department manages 11 parks including beach access near Surfside, 20 public boat ramps, and two RV campgrounds along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Brazoria County's parks system includes 14 miles of sandy Gulf Coast beach, 11 parks, 20 boat ramps, two RV campgrounds, fishing piers, paddling areas, and hardwood forest bottomlands. Most parks are open daily and free to pedestrians.
Surfside Jetty County Park sits at the foot of the East Jetty off Fort Velasco Drive in Surfside Beach. The paved jetty runs about six-tenths of a mile and is popular for day and night fishing along the Freeport ship channel. Parking, restrooms, and playground equipment are on site.
Driving on the beach at Surfside requires a vehicle permit available through the county. County parks rules apply to all facilities — no open fires in prohibited areas, and pets must be leashed.
