Comal County Has Burn Bans That Change With Conditions

Comal County can issue a county-wide burn ban at any time when fire conditions are dangerous.

The Comal County Commissioners Court can put a burn ban in place when drought or wind make outdoor burning dangerous. When the ban is on, you cannot burn yard debris, brush, or trash outside. Violating the ban can result in fines and jail time.

Even when no burn ban is in effect, state TCEQ outdoor burning rules still apply. Check the current burn ban status at 830-643-3748 or on the Comal County website before you burn. Status can change quickly with weather.
