Canyon Lake Offers Free and Low-Cost Public Recreation
Canyon Lake in northern Comal County has public boat ramps, campgrounds, fishing, and swimming areas managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates parks and recreation areas around Canyon Lake. You can boat, fish, swim, and camp there. The lake has about 60 miles of shoreline. Some areas are free to use. Others charge day-use or camping fees.
The lake sits on the Guadalupe River about 12 miles northwest of New Braunfels. It is one of the most popular outdoor spots in Comal County.
