Cedar Creek Reservoir offers big-lake fishing near Athens

Cedar Creek Reservoir is a 32,000-acre lake about 15 miles west of Athens with good bass, catfish, and striper fishing.

Cedar Creek Reservoir covers about 32,623 acres and sits in Henderson and Kaufman counties. The lake record for largemouth bass is 14.65 pounds. Catfish and white or hybrid striped bass fishing are both rated excellent by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
