Cleburne State Park Is About 30 Miles from Fort Worth
Cleburne State Park in Johnson County is one of the closest TPWD parks to Fort Worth, offering fishing, camping, hiking, and paddling.
Cleburne State Park sits on the northern edge of the Hill Country, about 30 minutes southwest of Fort Worth. It has a lake where you can fish and use boats at no-wake speed — personal watercraft like jet skis are not allowed, but the park has a boat ramp and motorized boats are permitted. According to TPWD, you do not need a fishing license to fish at Cleburne State Park.
