The Comal Springs Feed the Comal River in New Braunfels

The Comal Springs in Landa Park are among the largest springs in Texas and feed the short but swift Comal River.

The Comal Springs rise in Landa Park in downtown New Braunfels. They flow from the Edwards Aquifer. The Comal River runs just a few miles before joining the Guadalupe River. Its clear, cold water is a draw for tubing and swimming.

The springs are connected to the health of the Edwards Aquifer. During severe droughts, spring flow can drop significantly. The Comal Springs are also habitat for several protected species. Check TPWD for current rules on swimming and access near the springs.
