Copper Breaks State Park: Camping, Fishing, and Dark Skies

Copper Breaks State Park near Quanah offers camping, hiking, fishing, and one of Texas's certified dark-sky sites.

Copper Breaks State Park sits on Park Road 62 in Quanah. The park has a 60-acre no-wake lake where you can fish without a license. It also has hiking and mountain biking trails, a 3.8-mile equestrian trail, and tent and RV campsites. The entrance fee is $3 per day for visitors 13 and older.

The park holds an International Dark Sky Association designation, which means light pollution is very low. Stargazing here is excellent on clear nights. The park also keeps a herd of Texas Longhorns near the south entrance. The park reaches capacity on busy weekends, so reservations are strongly recommended.
