Daingerfield State Park sits inside the county and offers camping and fishing

Daingerfield State Park is a 507-acre park just east of the county seat with an 80-acre lake, campsites, cabins, and hiking trails.

The park is about two miles east of Daingerfield on Texas 49. It was built in the 1930s by Civilian Conservation Corps workers, and several of the original stone buildings still stand. The 80-acre Little Pine Lake has bass, catfish, crappie, and chain pickerel. You do not need a fishing license to fish from inside the park.

Overnight options include tent sites, RV hookup sites, small cabins, and a group lodge. Day-use admission is $4 for adults; kids 12 and under are free. The park can fill up on weekends. Texas Parks and Wildlife recommends booking in advance through their reservation system.
