Lake O' the Pines borders Morris County and offers year-round fishing

Lake O' the Pines is a large reservoir on Big Cypress Creek that touches Morris County and holds largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and white bass.

The lake covers roughly 19,780 surface acres at summer pool and sits across Marion, Morris, Upshur, and Camp counties, about 25 miles northeast of Longview. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages the reservoir. Texas Parks and Wildlife rates the largemouth bass population as abundant, with many legal-size fish available.

Public boat ramps and access points are available around the lake on the Marion and Morris County sides. A Texas fishing license is required outside designated state park waters. Check the TPWD fishing regulations page for any size or bag limits that apply to specific species on this lake, because rules can change season to season.
