Who Appraises Your Property in Dallas County
The Dallas Central Appraisal District sets the value of your property each year, and that value drives your tax bill.
Two offices handle property taxes in Dallas County. The Dallas Central Appraisal District (DCAD) decides what your property is worth. The Dallas County Tax Assessor-Collector bills you and collects the money. These are separate offices with separate addresses.
DCAD is at 2949 N. Stemmons Freeway, Dallas. Call them at 214-631-0910 or go to dallascad.org. The Tax Office is at 500 Elm Street, Suite 3300, Dallas. The Tax Office handles payments for many taxing units across the county, including school districts, cities, and special districts. If you have a question about your value, contact DCAD. If you have a question about your bill or payment, contact the Tax Office.
