Hunting
Kimble County Is a Major Deer-Hunting Destination
Junction has long served as a hub for deer hunters, and the county ranks among Texas's top deer-hunting areas.
The Texas State Historical Association describes Junction as the hunting center for one of the state's top deer-hunting counties. Most hunting here is on private ranches, and landowners commonly lease hunting rights to generate income. If you are buying rural land, hunting lease income can be a real part of the financial picture.
White-tailed deer are the main target, but turkey, dove, and hogs are also hunted. All hunters in Texas must have a valid license. Seasons and bag limits are set by Texas Parks and Wildlife and can change year to year. Check tpwd.texas.gov for current regulations before hunting season begins.
