Deer Hunting
Nueces County has a five-deer bag limit for white-tailed deer
Nueces County falls in the South Zone for white-tailed deer, allowing up to five deer per hunter per season with no more than three bucks.
TPWD puts Nueces County in the South Zone for white-tailed deer. The general season runs from November into January. An archery-only season opens in late September. A youth-only season and a special late season follow the general season.
Hunters on enrolled properties may use Managed Lands Deer Program (MLDP) tags. MLDP tags can carry different rules than the standard season. Turkey hunting is also open in Nueces County. Seasons and bag limits can change each year. Always check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual before you hunt to confirm current dates and limits.
