Deer Hunting Rules for Brazoria County

Brazoria County falls in the TPWD North Zone for white-tailed deer, with specific season dates, antler restrictions, and bag limits hunters must follow.

Brazoria County is in the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's North Zone for white-tailed deer. The general white-tailed deer season runs from November 1 through January 4. An archery-only season opens in late September, and a youth-only and muzzleloader season runs in mid-January. Season dates are set each year by TPWD and may change.

The bag limit is four deer total — no more than two bucks and no more than two antlerless deer across all seasons combined. An antler restriction applies: hunters may take two legal bucks, but only one of those bucks may have an inside spread of 13 inches or greater. A legal buck is one with at least one unbranched antler or a spread of 13 inches or more.

Antlerless deer may be taken with a hunting license tag in November; after December 1, antlerless deer on properties with MLDP (Managed Lands Deer Program) tags issued may only be taken with those tags. A Texas hunting license is required. Always verify current-year rules at tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/regs/counties/brazoria before hunting.
